Tutorial on Beaded Key Holder

Materials needed

  • Plastic Beads
  • Twine (0.4 or 0.5)
  • Key Ring
  • Cutter
Cross means to insert the twines into a bead in opposite directions.

Procedure:

  • Cut  a arms length of twine
  • Insert 5 beads, cross with 1 bead (make the twine equal). Note: This is forming the first circle
  • Insert 4 beads into any one of the twines (either on your right or left) and cross with 1 bead
  • Insert the twine into the next bead ,i.e the second bead,from your first circle. In the other twine, insert 3 beads, cross with 1 bead. 
  • Repeat this for the 3rd, 4th and 5th bead of the first circle
  • Insert the twine into the 6th bead from the first circle and again into the first bead from the 2nd circle. Insert 2 beads into one of the twines and cross with 1 bead
We are through with the base. the next is the edges. We need to work on each beads forming the edges of the base
  • Insert 2 beads into one of the twines, cross with 1 bead. Insert the twine into the next bead in the edge
  • Insert 1 bead and cross with 1 bead. Repeat till you get to the second to the last bead on the edge of the base
  • Insert the twine into the last bead on the edge of the base and the first bead from this step
  • Cross with 1 bead
The next step is to cover it up. Note that the edges are in 3's
  • Pass the twine through the next 2 beads, insert 2 beads and cross with 1 bead
  • Pass the twine through the next 3 beads. Insert 2 beads cross with 1 bead. 
  • Repeat for all the 3's on the edge
  • Pass the twine through the 6 beads in the center to tighten the center
The next step is to insert the key ring
  • Pass the twine again to come out in opposite sides of a bead on the edges
  • Insert 1 bead each  into the twines, insert the key ring and cross with 1 bead
  • Pass the twines through the beads to tighten it.
